SALHN provides more accurate services to over 350,000 patients

The Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) provides care for over 350,000 people living in the southern metropolitan area of Adelaide. SALHN is the second-largest hospital network in South Australia and one of the most successful. It has strong partnerships with Flinders University, and has a range of services for patients and staff, including an academic medical centre, two public hospitals and three private hospitals.

Business Problem

SALHN needed to access data at a patient level to support the day-to-day operational needs of the hospital across inpatient, emergency and elective surgery waitlists. SALHN was looking to engage a service provider who could assess the feasibility of accessing the data stored in the state data warehouse followed by the delivery of dashboards for its data team’s use.

Project Objectives

Infonyx work with SALHN and the SA Health state data warehouse team in a two-phase approach:

  • Phase 1: Assessment and delivery of a feasibility report with high-level data visualisation implementation architecture and recommendations.

  • Phase 2: Commission the data visualisation environment (Tableau) with the delivery of 40+ KPIs with access to data for self-service across Emergency, Inpatient and Elective Surgery in an onshore-offshore delivery model.
